Mountain Laurel Redux

This columbine is from my garden

Of the 4-5 kinds of laurel there, only 2 species showed signs of blooming

This kind was 5% in bloom

Two deer munched away not too concerned about us

I like this fringe tree

When we went to the Arb a week ago, all that was on the mountain laurel were 1 mm buds. Steve checked Saturday and they had tripled in size but not opened. Well we had a few almost 80 degree days. Maybe the laurel was finally in bloom? Well about 1% was overall but enough to be pretty. We'll go back in a week and it should be at its peak. All the rhododendron was almost gone. We didn't bother with the peonies. So much changes in just a week.

Earlier I had biked and ran and watched Maya. Tomorrow, it will rain on my parade.

Love your columbine - not one of the ones I have. Yet.
The mountain laurels are beautiful. The wonders of the blogosphere introduced me to them this year - for which I am grateful.
Deer? Oh my.

Parts of Oz do have deer (introduced), but there are none near us. We do however, see kangaroos most days. Which is lovely.
