Cartoons with agendas

Both the female and male red-bellied woodpeckers are regular visitors now
Oriole drank out of the hummingbird feeder while the grackle looked on
later he tried the seed cake which has some dried fruit in it. The female showed up for the first time this year but took off before we could take a photo of it

A much as I hate  blackbirds, I do like these tiles. I have them in the center of my fireplace mantel
dove all puffed up

While watching Daniel and Tessa the other day, I was only half paying attention to a cartoon they were watching with the following dialog:

How would you like to get some equity?
What's equity?
Another word for being rich.
Yep, let's get us some of that equity. How do we do that?
Well we can buy an apartment building.
How do we do that? We have no money.
The bank will give us some money.

So the characters do that. Problems arise. The tenants are whiners wanting this and that fixed. Then they discover that the apartment building has rent control so they need to devise a strategy to oust the tenants to get new ones at higher rents.

Huh? The kids weren't really paying attention but this seemed to be a different plot than the ones I watched while a kid with Ranger Rick trying to stop Yogi Bear from stealing those picnic baskets. And Wile E. Coyote continually being outsmarted by the Roadrunner.

I looked over Oliver's 2nd grade vocabulary list which included 'viscous' and 'translucent'. Yes he knew what they meant.

It has been cool and rainy for the past few days. I should be doing yard work but I am lazy. I did get my nails painted and have been running regularly. I thought the Cooper's hawk nest was deserted but finally saw the mother fly in. When she is inside the nest, all I can see is her tail feathers.

Maya decided to test us last night by running all over the place refusing to listen when it was time for her to go to bed. Steve glared at me.
So again, why do we have her?

Yes she is a challenge and so far behind. This morning she was back to being sweet and co-operative.

Love your birds.
And no-one who puts in the exercise you do can consider themselves lazy. Different focus, but NOT lazy.
