This was our special trip to ourselves to celebrate 40 years of marriage. And we spent it in the best city. After our deluxe buffet, which includes cava, we were dropped off at The Pedrera on Passeig de Gracia, walked through the Block of the Discord where different modernista architects competed with clashing designs. Down the Ramblas, down to the waterfront and Port Vell, up through El Born and then through the Barri Gotic. Lunch of paella 9 stories up over the Placa Catalunya. A long walk through the Citadel Park, back through El Born and Barri Gotic buying stuff at the Christmas markets surrounding the cathedral. Up Passeig Gracia to see the lights and back to our hotel. My watch said I walked 15 miles.

Spectacular.
What a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary.
I suspect that I would be tired after walking that distance - and not regret a step of it.
What amazing photos, Barcelona was a great choice for your anniversary. That paella looks yummy, too.
Congratulations!
